NetBooksHow cool are NetBooks Finally computer manufacturers are delivering smaller computers that just work without the component frills. Since USB we have had easily connected peripherals anyway, so with cheap adpaters things like external bootable CD/DVD-ROMS are lying around most of our office. The NetBook can easily make use of these via USB Connection - so to bring a quality computing experience with long battery life is cool. Now 12" Netbooks coming onto the market from (Dell and ASUS (or at least so the goes) for under AU$800. I have been using the Acer Aspire One - and it is very good. I have enjoyed the long battery life, with standard windows XP power management it seems to run all day.
The larger screen on the Dell 12" makes it more attractive, while it still claims to be 299 x 229 x 28 and 1.26kg (smaller battery) Complimenting this is the excellent office software from OpenOffice |
